Students launch month-long mental health awareness campaign


Students at one university are bringing attention to mental health. What better way to end the stigma of mental health then to bring it out into the open, in a fun atmosphere. Great job!

Maybe there is one center that is actually doing this right? No restraints, reduced weight times, sound like a good start. The one thing they did not mention was the turnover. One week is not enough time to go from suicidal to stable. . .

Lack of sleep may shrink your brain


This study was way to poorly done to show any sort of causation between lack of sleep and smaller brain size. Not only that, but it really tells us nothing. Here is an example of how a study is twisted to make people thing something the data did not tell us. That being said, from my own experience I know if J does not get enough sleep his behavior and control gets worse - yeah start of school insomnia!

Going gluten-free? Don’t forget your macronutrients


Seriously, eating McDonalds and white bread is more nutritious the whole foods I currently feed my kids? This article starts off interesting, but goes on a twist about how people who are eating 'diets' are not getting enough micronutrients - nutrients that supposedly come from wheat? First of all - REALLY. Second off America alone is not getting enough micronutrients. My kids are getting way more going gluten free then they ever did on the McDonald's diet I started them on. OK - vent over.
