Things have calmed down a bit in our house - meaning I have gone a while 24 hours without J trying to hurt someone. He did, however, break my crockpot lid. I may use it as an excuse to buy one with a timer.
On a positive note I got to create our next week menu. I was overjoyed that we will be getting tomatoes - who knew I missed them that much. Fresh tomatoes is just not the same as what comes in a can. S will be very happy that we will be getting strawberries. She insisted on getting them every week or throwing a huge fit. I have not had problems since we started the CSA - they know we get what they give us. That being said S will be very happy (even though we do keep frozen strawberries).
With all the craziness it is no surprise that my kids have not been eating well. I have been cooking them up the same Paleo goodness, except I noticed they stopped eating it. L has stopped wanting dinner altogether, and her lunch box has come home a few days full. Turns out Grandma has been feeding her toast in the morning, and who knows what else. She also gave me a lecture on how I need to start feeding my children grains, beans, and meats so that they do not starve. J laughed at this - although he stooled our laundry money to buy chocolate (I have some free stuff in our freezer - duh). I sometimes wonder if my mother remembers my childhood at all - she was absent for most after I hit double digits - I lived off canned food. When she did cook it was brownies. It was not the best week for her to have shared her opinion.
However, I did not mean to turn the weekly menu into a vent post. I have included waffles for breakfast and lunch because L requested them - and I need her to start eating real food again. I have also included red velvet cupcakes because they are made with beets. I hate beets. Turning them into yummy desert food sounded like an awesome idea!
