Five Crock Pot Recipes to Get You Started

Once someone explained to me that I really could leave the crock pot unattended for nine hours a day, as long as it has enough water, I have been using it at least three times a week. There is nothing better about coming home from work to have dinner all ready. It is almost like we have a personal chef.

To make the crock pot work for us I prep the food the night before. Then I throw it in a bowl in the refrigerator overnight. In the morning the food gets dumped in the crock pot, we add water, check to make sure it is plugged in, and check to make sure that it is turned on.

So far we have left the food unplugged and forgot to add the water. Both times made me pretty sad. The good news is that we have a mental checklist now.

Last night I threw together a version of Paleo Parents Halupki Stirfry. It tasted even better then the many times we have made it on the stove top.

I love collecting crock pot recipes. They give me ideas on what to do. However, we ultimately base what we are doing off of the vegetables that come in our CSA.

Here are some ideas that you may enjoy.
