J was hoping that I would give him his own webspace so that he could devote it to a an anti drug club that he started last summer. This was the real reason that he added getting a website to the family bucket list.
At first I did consider it. He has been talking about his club, how many members he has, and how he had the support of teachers at school. I thought it was great that he had started this club, and I could see how a blog could benefit it. My one condition was that the teacher who sponsored the club be willing to oversee it. J has very little impulse control, and based on previous issues he has to be monitored on the internet.
And that is when his fabulous story of his club began to unravel. Although he had members to his group the list was on a piece of paper that he lost. Oh, and there is not a teacher sponsoring his club, because it is not actually a club. He never bothered to get the paperwork to officially start it.
No club, no website.
The good news is that to fulfill our family bucket list the blog now has a real domain address! Yeah. I am very excited. I hope you like my little slice of the web.
I did let J know that I think practicing good internet skills will help him to get more privileges. He now wants his own blog. My compromise was that he could guest post here. I suppose now we just have to wait and see if he will choose to actually write a post.
